Privacy Policy

SattvAI is your private, calming space for spiritual practice. We built it to protect that intimacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. In plain words: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your data, and much of your practice stays on your device.

1. Who we are

SattvAI ("SattvAI", "we", "us", or "our") is a spiritual companion app for meditation, reflection, and devotional practice. You can reach us any time at team@sattvai.com.

2. Information we collect

We only collect what the app needs to work for you:

• Account information — when you create an account we store your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information Google shares (name and email). Your password is handled entirely by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store it.
• Your practice data — the activity you record in the app, such as meditation minutes, streaks, mood check-ins, gratitude notes, prayers, and habit progress. This powers your stats, streaks, and Soul Timeline.
• Journal entries and reflections — the private writing you save in the Journal. This is stored on your device.
• Content you send to AI features — the questions and messages you type into Talk to God, Ask the Gita, the daily message, and Help & Support. This text is sent to our AI provider to generate a response (see Section 4).
• Voice input (optional) — if you use voice-to-text for journaling or commands, your device transcribes speech to text. We only receive the resulting text, not raw audio recordings.
• Preferences and settings — your chosen language, theme, reminder times, and similar settings, so the app behaves the way you like.
• Advertising identifier (Android app, Free members only) — on the Android app, Free members may see small banner ads served by Google AdMob, which can access your device's advertising ID to serve and measure those ads. Plus and Max members never see ads. We never share your name, email, journal entries, or messages with AdMob.
• Basic technical data — limited, standard information (such as error and crash diagnostics, and anonymous usage analytics collected via Google Analytics for Firebase — for example which features are used and how often, never the content of your journals or messages) needed to keep the app running reliably and to improve it.

3. How we use your information

We use your information only to give you the app and make it better:

• To provide core features — save your progress, show your stats and streaks, and personalize daily guidance.
• To generate AI responses to your questions and reflections.
• To sync your progress across your devices when you are signed in.
• To send the daily reminders you turn on (these run on your device).
• To answer your support requests.
• To keep SattvAI secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

We do not use your journal entries, prayers, or messages to show you advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone. Free members on the Android app may see general banner ads served by Google AdMob; Plus and Max members are always ad-free.

4. AI features and our AI providers

SattvAI's AI guidance is powered by large-language-model providers (currently OpenAI and Anthropic). When you use an AI feature, the text of your message (and, where relevant, a small amount of context such as which presence you are talking to) is sent to that provider to generate a reply.

Our providers process this text on our behalf to return a response, under their API data-use policies (this content is not used to train their public models). Please avoid entering information you would not want processed by a third-party AI service, such as passwords, financial account numbers, or others' private details.

AI responses are generated for reflection and inspiration. They can be imperfect and are not professional, medical, legal, or mental-health advice (see the Terms of Service).

5. Where your information is stored

• On your device — journal entries, reflections, and a cached copy of your settings and stats are stored locally on your device.
• In the cloud (when signed in) — your account and your practice stats are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) so they can sync and are not lost if you change devices. Access is restricted so that only your account can read your own stats.

6. How we share information

We share information only with the service providers that help us run SattvAI, and only as needed to provide the app:

• Google Firebase — for sign-in, secure cloud storage of your account and stats, and anonymous usage analytics.
• OpenAI / Anthropic — to generate AI responses to your messages (see Section 4).
• Apple App Store / Google Play — if you buy a subscription, the store processes the payment. We receive confirmation that you subscribed, but never your full card details.
• Google AdMob (Android app, Free members only) — to serve and measure banner ads shown to Free members. AdMob receives your device's advertising ID, never your name, email, or app content.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the app. We never sell your personal information.

7. Data retention

We keep your account and stats for as long as your account is active. You can delete your locally stored data by signing out or removing the app, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated cloud data at any time (see Section 8).

8. Your choices and rights

• Access and correction — you can view and edit your name and settings in the app at any time.
• Deletion — delete your account and practice data directly in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account), or email us at team@sattvai.com and we will do it for you.
• Voice and narration — you can turn voice narration and voice input on or off in Settings.
• Reminders — you can turn daily reminders on or off, or change their times, in Settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA (for example, to access, port, or restrict processing of your data). Contact us to exercise them.

9. Children's privacy

SattvAI is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reputable providers (Google Firebase, OpenAI, Anthropic) and access controls designed to keep your data safe, including rules that restrict your cloud stats to your own account. No method of storage or transmission is ever perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

11. International users

Our providers may process and store data on servers located in the United States and other countries. By using SattvAI, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SattvAI evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use SattvAI after an update means you accept the revised policy.
